A Legacy That Began in 1909

Our story began high above the ground in 1909.  Francis Grover Cleveland Inners started in show business as a trapeze artist with “The Flying Shellys.” Francis was the catcher, his brother James the flyer.  They were thrilling audiences under the big top and began a family tradition in entertainment that would last for generations.

From Vaudeville to the Midway

By 1913, Francis was producing Vaudeville shows in York, Pennsylvania. A painter and paperhanger by trade, he and his wife, Mazie Elizabeth Jacobs, built a life rooted in hard work and determination.

Around 1915, Francis began operating small amusement rides and games at local picnics and community events. What started modestly would soon grow into something much bigger.

Building the Family Business

In 1946, Francis and his son Edward formed Inners Amusement Co.

After Francis passed in 1954, Mazie and Edward continued forward, investing in their first major ride.  They purchased a 10 seat Ferris wheel in 1955. That investment marked a turning point and symbolized their belief in the future of the company.

In 1962, Wayne “Jake” Inners returned home after four years serving in the U.S. Air Force. A year later, he purchased his first ride, a Theel Carousel and officially joined the business.

The purchase of a major ride called the Hustler in 1970 positioned the company as a serious competitor in the amusement industry.

In 1974, Jake formed Majestic Midways, beginning a new chapter in the family legacy.

Passing the Torch

In 2012, Jake proudly passed leadership to the next generation when his son, Scott, took over as President of Majestic Midways.

In 2014, our family celebrated 105 years in the amusement industry, a milestone few companies can claim and one we are incredibly proud of.

In 2024 Inners Amusements Co., Inc. merged with Russ Amusements Co.  Then in 2026, Scott handed over operation of Majestic Midways to his youngest son, Jacob Inners.  While continuing to manage the day to day operations of Russ Amusements Co.
